		<description>RE:SPACE ISSUE 1RE:SPACE is a publication that explores unconventional behavior and movement in public spaces, challenging the rigid structures that dictate where and how people are allowed to exist. Through essays, photography, and firsthand accounts, we examine the ways individuals repurpose, disrupt, and reclaim urban environments—whether through street skating, graffiti, informal economies, or other acts of defiance.

This magazine is a critique on the policing of movement, questioning societal double standards that celebrate certain actions in controlled settings while criminalizing them in public. By highlighting these contradictions, we aim to spark dialogue about ownership, access, and the unspoken rules that shape our cities.

In this role, I led the design efforts for TrueBlue, a proprietary water testing technology developed by the Cornish Laboratory at Columbia University for submission to the NSF Convergence Accelerator program.&#38;nbsp;
My contributions included creating TrueBlue’s visual identity, producing a promotional video, and designing marketing materials for their Phase II funding application. 
I worked closely with Principal Investigators and post-doctoral researchers to develop compelling content that aligned with the project’s goals.&#38;nbsp;Due to an NDA protecting the technology, the full scope of my work can only be shared in person. I’ve included select images from the video and the brand’s logo as part of this portfolio.

		<description>TikTok LHM “¡Adelante!”
Naming and visual identity for TikTok’s 2023 Latin Heritage Month campaign, spanning across digital and physical applications. Inspired by TikTok’s year-round initiative #CasaTikTok, this design welcomes viewers home. “¡Adelante!” is a phrase used to invite someone in as you greet them at your door. It translates to “Come on in” as well as holds an uplifting cultural meaning of moving onward and forward. The wordmark itself is designed to emphasize the Spanish language, utilizing the inverted exclamation marks that are unique to the language as vertical framing devices.The visual design system is comprised of an earthy off-white color paired against bright vibrant hues pulled from TikTok’s secondary palette as well as a few unique colors that are ubiquitously Latino. The compositions are dynamic perspective views of a room, inspired by the geometric architecture that can be seen throughout all of Latin America. Within these rooms, we have embedded images of treated objects such as plants, textiles, and food that connect us to our cultures. Many of these images were taken by the design team in our own homes or family homes, which made this project even that much more special.

This project was a redesign of the OG TINMAN ELITE logo with original artwork. The redesign was featured on a limited edition apparel line that accompanied the release of their&#38;nbsp;second professional Adidas running shoe, the TME 2. 
The concept behind the STORM COLLECTION Logo is to represent both the literal and metaphorical idea of the rainstorm. This logo redesign captures the unpredictable nature of the rolling Colorado rainstorm and connects it to the ebbs and flows of long-distance running.&#38;nbsp;The constant struggle to adapt and overcome obstacles is embodied within the identity of Tinman Elite.&#38;nbsp;

Finding Home is an intimate journey through my family’s
history that examines my parents’ lives as people of color in the United States,
and how their experiences have shaped and defined my life. Within that context, I examine my more
recent experiences traveling home to Ecuador over the past several years in the later part of the

		<description>A Call For Reform: Data Visualization
This project analyzes arrest rates in New York City (NYC) using NYC Open Data to examine the disparities in the treatment of people of color within the criminal justice system. By exploring data on arrests, one can investigate the disproportionate impact on specific racial or ethnic groups. 
The NYC Open Data platform provides access to a wealth of information, including arrest records, demographic details, and location-based data. Researchers and analysts can utilize this data to quantify and compare arrest rates among different racial and ethnic categories. The analysis in this project reveals patterns of overrepresentation in arrests of minority groups, shedding light on systemic issues/biases within law enforcement practices.

Examining the relationship between population size and arrest rates for people of color can contribute valuable insights to discussions surrounding social justice, equity, and the need for reform within the criminal justice system. It's an opportunity to leverage data transparency for informed discussions and policy considerations to address disparities in arrest rates based on race or ethnicity.
